Greater Manchester Low Carbon Hub. Delivering Greater Manchester's transition to a low-carbon economy

What can Natural Capital do for our urban environment? - image

Join the #GMNaturalCapital conversation…

The conference will bring together leading practitioners from across the public, private and third sectors to consider ‘What can natural capital do for our urban environments’ and will help us to find out more about how we can encourage and support growth of the natural capital agenda and identify opportunities for delivering multiple benefits for example through the Natural Course project.

Between now and the event the Greater Manchester Low Carbon Hub (@GMLowcarbonhub)  will be starting a conversation on twitter #gmnaturalcapital to explore the different workshop themes.  It would be great even if you can’t join us on the day to post your thoughts ahead of the event, for further discussion.

Topics for conversation include…

  • What does Natural Capital mean to you and your organisation?
  • What are the key challenges and opportunities around delivering a Natural Capital based approach in GM?
  • What types of Natural Capital projects are you presently working on?
  • What types of innovative finance solutions can be used to deliver projects?

On the day there will be interactive workshops and talks from key speakers, covering the following subjects:

  • Embedding natural capital in the decision making process - why now and what does it mean for GM including the GM Urban Pioneer and developing a Natural Capital account.
  • Delivering natural capital as part of Greater Manchester’s Growth ambitions including the Natural Course project, investment opportunities, multiple benefits from natural solutions and how these can be delivered in practice.

If you didn’t manage to book a place, we will be reporting back on how the event went, key highlights and downloading all key note speaker presentations on these pages.

If you’re not a twitter user, please let us have your views and start the conversation by emailing
